I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember. In high school I competed at the National level for track & field two years in a row, and later went on to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I was living out all of my childhood dreams, when the trajectory of my career changed.

I sustained a career ending injury – a complete rupture of my ACL with damage to my meniscus.

I had two choices: wallow in self pity or fight to be the athlete I once was. I chose the latter. I focused on the things I could control. I put in the work, did my rehab daily and fell in love with the process. I knew I wasn’t done yet. Shortly after I found CrossFit®, the sport that allowed me to feel like an athlete again. The sport that allowed me to grow stronger, faster, and more resilient than ever.

Through sports I learned the value of teamwork, leadership, and community. Through adversity I learned the things that can’t be taught: attitude and effort. That is why #IAMNOBULL.
